Quantum-Classical Quantum Simulation
Bernoulli Workshop - EPFL
Lausanne, Switzerland
10 - 12 May 2023
Remark by Richard Feynman at the 1961 Solvay Conference.
The ability to quickly and accurately simulate many-body quantum systems would dramatically impact fields from nuclear physics to chemistry to materials science. Due to recent advances in experimental quantum information processing, many questions concerning when quantum algorithms outperform classical algorithms for quantum simulation, and vice versa, have emerged.
In this workshop, we re-emphasize the importance of quantum simulation independent of the method, examine the strengths and challenges of classical and quantum algorithms, and work to combine quantum and classical (“quantum-classical”) methods to reach new frontiers in quantum simulation.
